Henry the Green Engine from Thomas & Friends

Henry the Green Engine is a long and fast engine who is high strung at times. He is based on the on a Stainer 4-6-0 Class 5 engine and he is the No.3 green engine on the Island of Sodor. Henry was rebuilt after an accident pulling the Flying Kipper an express fish train.

He now works on the main line and pulls coaches and trucks. Sometimes he brings mail from the Mainland and he can haul the Express if Gordon is not around.

Henry is a member of the Steam Team, which includes Edward, Toby, James, Gordon, Percy, and Thomas.

Trivia

Before his shape was changed, Henry had to have special coal brought in so he could run properly. Henry is based on a Stainer 4-6-0 Class 5 engine. Once when Henry was sick the Fat Controller gave him special Welsh coal to help him.

Henry made his appearance in the very first Thomas book and two books honor him, Henry the Green Engine and Henry and the Express.
