Dennis the diesel from Thomas & Friends
Dennis is a grey diesel engine who is notoriously very lazy; he will do anything to get out of working. Dennis will give any excuse he can to avoid working an honest days labor. Dennis dislikes hard work and often tries to take advantage of others, depending on them to do his tasks. However, he learned a valuable lesson when he reversed into a ditch and had to rely on Thomas to finish his work. Despite his laziness, Dennis occasionally redeems himself, but whether he truly means his apologies remains a question. He's based on British Railways No. 11001, a prototype diesel locomotive, and is part of the Vicarstown Dieselworks team on the Island of Sodor. Dennis has a twin brother named
Norman. They both work at the Vicarstown Dieselworks on the Island of Sodor. Norman is efficient and hardworking, while Dennis tends to be lazy and tries to avoid work. Despite their differences, they share a sibling bond.
Trivia
Dennis is modeled after a British Railways Ashford which is made for shunting and mainline duties. This engine is known to reach speeds of 43 mph.
