Duke the narrow gauge engine from Thomas & Friends

Duke is a narrow gauge engine and is painted brown with his name displayed on both sides of his body. He is the oldest and most experienced of the narrow gauge engines on Sodor. Duke has a nickname which is Grandpuff, he was given this name by his friends Falcon and Stuart. He worked with Falcon and Stuart on a now closed railway and was left behind when the railway closed. Duke was found years later in his shed and reunited with his pals.

Trivia

Duke made his first appearance in Season 4 in Duke the Lost Engine and is based on the true story of an engine abandoned in the rain forest of Brazil. He is modeled after a 0-4-0 saddle tank engine called Prince of the Ffestiniog Railway at Porthmadog North Wales.
