Mavis the diesel engine from Thomas & Friends

Mavis the diesel engine is called a shunter and she is very feisty engine. She is colored black with yellow hazard strips and wears the name The Ffarquhar Quarry Co. Ltd on both sides of her body. She works at the Centre Island Quarry where she works with Bill and Ben here pals.

Trivia

Mavis has six wheels which are covered by side plates and cow catcher. She is modeled after the British Rail Class 04 shutner. Mavis is a major character in The Railway Series.

She made her first appearance in a book called Tramway Engines and was named by a neihbour of Revd Awdry in Rodborough, Stroud
