Rusty the diesel engine from Thomas & Friends

Rusty the diesel engine is the only diesel engine on the narrow gauge railway. He is painted orange with his name and the number 5 painted in white on his side. Rusty was brought to the railway to help Sir Handel and Peter Sam during Skarloey's absence. He pulls trains of workmen and equipment around the railway and occasionally trucks when the railway is busy.

Trivia

Rusty is modeled after the Ruston & Hornsby diesel engine from the 1940's. He is pals with Duncan who is sometimes rude to Rusty but always apologizes afterwards when Rusty helps him.
