Toad the Brakevan from Thomas & Friends

Toad the Brakevan is painted grey with the letters GW painted on his side with the number 56381 and the word TOAD at one end. He is Oliver's brake van and was rescued from the scrap by Douglas at the same time as Oliver and Isabel.

Toad works alongside Oliver on Duck's branch line, he has been refurbished completely.

Toad the Brakevan Trivia

Toad the Brake Van is a 20-ton brake van from the Great Western Railway built in 1940 at Swindon. His name comes from the Great Western Railway where brake vans were known by telegraph code "Toad". As a very respectful brake van Toad refers to engines as Mister. He calls Oliver, Mister Oliver and Douglas, Mister Douglas.
