Percy the Small Engine from Thomas & Friends

Percy the Small Engine is a junior member of Sir Topham Hatt's railway line. He is the No. 6 on his bunker and is the smallest and youngest of the steam engines. His favorite job is to deliver mail.

Percy is very special because he is Thomas' best friend. Sometimes the other engines take advantage of him but he is always happy to help.

Percy is a member of the Steam Team, which includes Toby, Edward, Henry, Gordon, James, Thomas and Emily.

Percy the Small Engine Trivia

Percy's design is based on the engines from the Avonside Engine Company, the 0-4-0 saddle tank engine. His first appearance was in 1950 in The Railway Series Troublesome Engines. Sir Topham Hatt brought Percy to Sodor due to a shortage of shunting engines. Percy usually pulls the mail train and Annie and Clarabel.

After proving himself to the Fat Controller, Percy was promoted to work on the same line as Thomas. Percy is best friends with Toby also.
